Stand for Freedom of Speech in Wisconsin

Less than a week ago, the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB), a non-elected board appointed by Governor Doyle, issued a new administrative rule that regulates and limits political speech and subjects violators to civil and criminal penalties.
The ruling is the most serious threat to our freedom of speech that I have witnessed in my lifetime.
I agree with my political opponent, Scot Ross with One Wisconsin Now, who said, “Under the new rule, now free speech becomes regulated speech.”
I can assure the members of Americans for Prosperity, the patriots of the Tea Party Movement, and members of all other liberty advancing groups that we take this action very, very seriously and we have our legal team exploring all options to respond to this outrage.

Why was Rep. Ann Hraychuck was Removed from the Assembly Special Committee on Clean Energy Jobs
Boots and Sabers had an interesting article at: http://www.bootsandsabers.com discussing Ann Hraychuck’s removal from the Assembly Special Committee on Clean Energy Jobs.
So… Rep. Ann Hraychuck (D-Balsam Lake) was removed from the Assembly Special Committee on Clean Energy Jobs today. They are currently considering the devastating global warming bill that the Democrats want to ram through at the end of the legislative session before they lose power.
Why?
Rep. Hraychuck says it’s because she expressed reservations about the bill so the Democratic leadership threw her off the committee to discipline her.
The Democrats say that they were responding to Republican criticism about the lopsidedness of the committee (as if a 6-3 split is any better than a 7-3 split).
The Republicans say that she was taken off the committee to protect her from having to vote on a controversial bill since she is in a swing district.
Who is right?
If I had to bet, I’d say that the Republicans are right and Rep. Hraychuck and the Democrats are trying to cover themselves. The Democrats wouldn’t want to punish her by throwing her off a committee because they may need her vote when the legislation hits the floor. Plus, it would have been more effective for her to vote against the bill in committee if she wanted to show balance to her constituents. The bill would still get out of committee on a 6-4 vote and she could go home and claim to have voted against it. The Democrats’ excuse is just idiotic. If they were trying to be more bipartisan on the committee they wouldn’t have just removed Hraychuck. They would have allowed a Republican appointment or two in her place.
If you’re a voter in Hraychuck’s district, don’t be fooled. She’s playing you.
Rep. Ann Hraychuck is the liberal democrat from the 28th Assembly District in Wisconsin. She is running for her 3rd Assembly term against Erik Severson, Republican from the Osceola area.
Dave Obey Town Hall Meeting on the Nationalization of Health Care – March 28, 2010

Dave Obey is not known for visiting the 7th Congressional District to listen to his constituents. Typically, he gives little to no advanced notice when he does come into town and leaves as quickly as arrived. For most people, all they see of their Congressman is a well placed photo in the paper.
Yes, Dave Obey loves photo-ops! Take a look at the images below with Dave Obey and his Democrat cohorts. Everyone wants to be seen with the senior bearer of “free” gifts – standing next to a 4′ check delivering more Pork to his district – hoping to to please the voters enough to stay in office for at least one more term. And why not? It has been working for over 40 years!
So, who pays for all this generosity?
No, not Dave, nor Nancy Pelosi and certainly not President Obama. Non of these “generous givers” will be paying for the Pork that Dave hands out like candy…but someone has to, right?
Oh, yeah ~ you do, your family does, and your kids and their kids will for generations to come.
It is completely irresponsible. You can’t run your family budget like that and yet the Government seems to think that they can borrow, tax, and spend without penalty…enter the voice of the American people. The American people have spoken, shouted, and protested ~ but Mr. Obey and the rest of the Democrats in Congress aren’t listening!
They know what is good for you and you’d better shut up and pay for it!
On March 28, 2010, Dave Obey held a telephone “Town Hall Meeting” to discuss the Nationalization of Heath Care in America.
No, you won’t hear him describe it to you like that, but that is exactly what it is.
If you were like most of the 7th District who didn’t hear the “Town Hall Meeting” and would have like to have heard Dave’s explanation for his support of this un-constitutional bill (now law) ~ you may have been disappointed.
However, we’ve obtained a recording of the call (in progress) and have made it available for your listening education.
Understand, you will only hear more of the same talking points and spin put out by Democrats meant to get you to turn off your brains, shut up, get in line, and pull out your wallet. Regardless, we feel that it should be everyone’s right to hear this information and make up their own minds.
Note, it is over 1 hr long and contains a series of pre-screened questions from both sides. It is un-edited and the audio quality isn’t great.
So, What Now?
Now is the time to act. Republicans, conservatives, moderates, liberals, democrats, libertarians, constitutionalists ~ and everyone else saw the problems with this un-constitutional health care law.
It was passed against the will of the American people. It is another example of the President’s lies about transparency and Dave Obey’s misunderstanding of simple math. Anyone who can balance a check book knows that this isn’t going to work.
It is time to retire Dave Obey.
It is time to put our shoulder’s to the plow and work hard to reverse the damage that has been done before it is too late. We need to understand that it doesn’t stop here. They are already onto the next agenda item to “Fundamentally Change America.” We must keep up the fight.
November 2010 is the way we do it.
America has a choice and we must make the right decisions and vote out the people who are bent on destroying our country. All across Wisconsin and the United States of America, there are elections that will be decided in November 2010. We can’t allow ourselves to rest until we have secured our freedom from tyranny and those who seek to take it away.
We need your help.
Will you help us defeat the Progressives in November? Will you help us protect our constitution, our freedoms, and our rights?
Please leave a comment below and tell us what you think. Fill out the contact form and let us know what you can do to elect conservatives to office.
It maybe your time, your talents, or your generous donations. What ever you can do, now is the time to do it.
God Bless you and God Bless America!

RPW Response to Doyle’s Final State of the State Address
MADISON – Republican Party of Wisconsin Chairman Reince Priebus issued the following statement in response to Governor Doyle’s eighth and final State of the State address:
“Governor Doyle’s State of the State speech was a reminder that he’s spent the past seven years expanding state government instead of our state’s economy.
Growing government through new regulations, mandates, and entitlements is exactly what got our state into the current mess, and Doyle’s speech offered nothing to get us out of it.
Doyle is now proposing to significantly drive up the cost of energy for Wisconsin families and businesses, only to turn around and offset the rate increases on manufacturers with taxpayer dollars.
And somehow, Doyle doesn’t think Wisconsin voters will catch on that a new sales tax doesn’t equal a job creation plan.
It is clear that Wisconsin cannot afford more of Doyle’s failed policies, and in November, voters will have a chance to elect a new, Republican governor who will change course, bring accountability to the office and jobs into our state.

Democrats Act to Increase Insurance Premiums for Wisconsin Residents

By Rep. Jeff Fitzgerald
Opening your auto insurance bill this fall may result in whiplash more severe than a head-on collision. But unlike the deer in the middle of the road, this disaster was completely avoidable.
Democrat lawmakers included numerous auto insurance changes in the last state budget, causing rates to skyrocket. The sneaky part is that these policy provisions had absolutely nothing to do with balancing the state books.
You will now be required to have higher minimums on coverage, and multiple vehicle polices could be exposed to action from a single accident. In other words, if you have two cars with $1 million of insurance on each, you could be liable for all $2 million in damages, even if only one vehicle was involved in an accident.
The lone group that supported these changes will benefit from those bigger awards in lawsuits.
According to the Wisconsin Insurance Alliance, these changes will boost auto insurance premiums by 33 percent for most drivers and more for low-income and middle-class drivers. Additionally, medical payment coverage premiums for motorcyclists could more than triple.
These modifications were attached to a budget document in the hopes that you wouldn’t notice. From the calls I am receiving at my office in Madison, however, their sleight of hand did not work.
Callers to my office are rarely irate. But since insurance bills list “legislative action” as the reason for the increase, my phone lines have been overheated with frustration.
The annoying part of that explanation is that every Republican in the Legislature, including myself, opposed these provisions. We offered specific amendments to remove the changes that would increase premiums but were rejected by the Democrat majority.
We pleaded with Democrats to not artificially increase insurance premiums, as the higher rates will hurt working families and small businesses. They heard us, but ignored our request. Nothing as trivial as premium increases during a recession was going to get in the way of the Democrat leadership flexing its muscle.
These significant rate hikes are hitting families at the worst time. With record unemployment, we should be working in Madison to reduce the burden on the family budget. Instead, Democrats made changes that take away options and dramatically increase rates on those already financially stressed.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” Democrats were given absolute power in the last election. They chose to unnecessarily jack up your insurance rates. Now that is change you can do without.
