Dave Obey is not known for visiting the 7th Congressional District to listen to his constituents. Typically, he gives little to no advanced notice when he does come into town and leaves as quickly as arrived. For most people, all they see of their Congressman is a well placed photo in the paper.
Yes, Dave Obey loves photo-ops! Take a look at the images below with Dave Obey and his Democrat cohorts. Everyone wants to be seen with the senior bearer of “free” gifts – standing next to a 4′ check delivering more Pork to his district – hoping to to please the voters enough to stay in office for at least one more term. And why not? It has been working for over 40 years!
So, who pays for all this generosity?
No, not Dave, nor Nancy Pelosi and certainly not President Obama. Non of these “generous givers” will be paying for the Pork that Dave hands out like candy…but someone has to, right?
Oh, yeah ~ you do, your family does, and your kids and their kids will for generations to come.
It is completely irresponsible. You can’t run your family budget like that and yet the Government seems to think that they can borrow, tax, and spend without penalty…enter the voice of the American people. The American people have spoken, shouted, and protested ~ but Mr. Obey and the rest of the Democrats in Congress aren’t listening!
They know what is good for you and you’d better shut up and pay for it!
On March 28, 2010, Dave Obey held a telephone “Town Hall Meeting” to discuss the Nationalization of Heath Care in America.
No, you won’t hear him describe it to you like that, but that is exactly what it is.
If you were like most of the 7th District who didn’t hear the “Town Hall Meeting” and would have like to have heard Dave’s explanation for his support of this un-constitutional bill (now law) ~ you may have been disappointed.
However, we’ve obtained a recording of the call (in progress) and have made it available for your listening education.
Understand, you will only hear more of the same talking points and spin put out by Democrats meant to get you to turn off your brains, shut up, get in line, and pull out your wallet. Regardless, we feel that it should be everyone’s right to hear this information and make up their own minds.
Note, it is over 1 hr long and contains a series of pre-screened questions from both sides. It is un-edited and the audio quality isn’t great.
So, What Now?
Now is the time to act. Republicans, conservatives, moderates, liberals, democrats, libertarians, constitutionalists ~ and everyone else saw the problems with this un-constitutional health care law.
It was passed against the will of the American people. It is another example of the President’s lies about transparency and Dave Obey’s misunderstanding of simple math. Anyone who can balance a check book knows that this isn’t going to work.
It is time to retire Dave Obey.
It is time to put our shoulder’s to the plow and work hard to reverse the damage that has been done before it is too late. We need to understand that it doesn’t stop here. They are already onto the next agenda item to “Fundamentally Change America.” We must keep up the fight.
November 2010 is the way we do it.
America has a choice and we must make the right decisions and vote out the people who are bent on destroying our country. All across Wisconsin and the United States of America, there are elections that will be decided in November 2010. We can’t allow ourselves to rest until we have secured our freedom from tyranny and those who seek to take it away.
We need your help.
Will you help us defeat the Progressives in November? Will you help us protect our constitution, our freedoms, and our rights?
Please leave a comment below and tell us what you think. Fill out the contact form and let us know what you can do to elect conservatives to office.
It maybe your time, your talents, or your generous donations. What ever you can do, now is the time to do it.
God Bless you and God Bless America!

To Consevatives in the 7th District: Let’s show them we can retire this 40 year GIANT of PORK. Just like the folks in Nevade are doing to Mr. Reid. Are you with us?
Its time to take our country back in November!!
Obviously our opinion was of no value – we were scheduled on the call – the phone rang for the call and when we picked it up to join we were greeted with the message: “sorry to have missed you” from the Obey camp – yup, “Change we can believe in” and of course “transparency”. Throw all the bums out, start with a new crop on a short leash. We The People need to speak with a loud voice at the polls in November rejecting Socialism and the rest of the ism’s.
John and Gayle McKay
I’m sure that even the people in the photos receiving the checks know that this reckless insane spending spree going in D.C. will destroy the country. But they don’t seem to care and continue voting for this scoundrel. Obey and the rest of the Democrats have for years been buying votes with my money and I’m mad as Hell! I have better things to do with my money than purchase the votes of these anti-American socialists!
Obey is done! He is going to need to find a new job – AND NOT IN THE POLITICAL SYSTEM EITHER! Street sweeper maybe?
You’ll notice the Idiot Gov Doyle is in every pic as well — with that dumb grin on his face — sickening. We need to rid ourselves of these people…
The govt. is too expensive. We pay for all these services, buildings, programs, subsidies, bailouts and now industries yet we receive no dividends on our investments, not even a say in what we like or don’t like. Anyone who thinks they can use our money to pay for someone else’s lifestyle believes in legalized plunder. These people need to be voted out ASAP. (this happens to be most of DC; get rid of the departments too, while you’re at it. They harass us, not help us.)
After listening to David Obey’s phone recording, it reaffirms my commitment to see this man voted out of office. He is out of touch with the most important issues that need to be address for WI residents. We need jobs (not government jobs), that will allow us to pay our mortgages, buy food for our families, pay our utilities, and then pay insurance or medical bills. It’s beyond foolish to think that insurance is the top item we worry about, it’s jobs. Open up the state for more competitive insurance companies and tighten the insurance company oversight etc, and the insurance company abuses will be addressed. What a foolish uncaring man who doesn’t even live in WI anymore. How could the majority of us have been so blind to have reelected him so many times. Let’s end it folks and start with a fresh person with fresh ideas and energy to work for us and not a Washington fund raiser like Obey.
Hey David Obey, Pork Producer extraordinare.
I called you several times and received the recorded message that your mailbox was full. When I finally get a response it is after the fact that you ignored me and I’m sure a much higher percentage of your constituents that were against this Progressive take over of healthcare. No, it wasn’t healthcare either but another American business. Instead of improving our insurance prospects you and your CORRUPT buddies and “good buddies” managed to manipulate the rules and jamb this disaster down our throats. Well America is gagging now and in November America is going to throw up. We as the people of this district are going toss our lunch of healthcare bills and the politicians who supported it out of office and to the sewers were any socialistic, communistic, or fascist followers should belong. Take your rubber checks and deposit it were the sun has never risen! The motto of Virginia is appropriate for your ilk. “Sic Semper Tyrannis!”
Mr. Obey,
Start looking for a new job. You should be ashamed of yourself!
November will ruin your Christmas!
Wasn’t the time for a “town hall” before the vote on healthcare (insurance) reform? I contacted Obey on numerous occasions before the final votes, and got NO response, until recently I recieved an e-mail praising himself and his vote.
Along the same lines of this vote, maybe we should solve unemployment by handing out fines to those without a job.
See ya, Dave
I have attached an exact copy from Obey for your review:
Dear Mr. Eiynck:
Thank you for contacting me to express your thoughts about health care reform. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue and I wanted to give you an update.
As you may know, the House of Representatives passed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act on March 24, 2010 with my support. After 90 years of trying, the long overdue legislation we passed will finally start to civilize the American health care system by getting insurance companies’ noses out of decisions that should be between patients and their doctors and assuring that every American has the opportunity to get the medical care they need without begging. It’s about time.
It’s about time we begin to guarantee that insurance companies cannot reject people for pre-existing conditions or drop people who have faithfully paid their premiums because they become too expensive to cover.
It’s about time we end the process of leaving Americans to face bankruptcy because insurance companies impose lifetime and annual limits on what will be covered.
It’s about time that we begin to move to a different way of compensating medical providers for the quality of services they provide rather than the quantity of procedures they perform.
It’s about time we give small businesses some help if they voluntarily decide they would like to provide coverage for their workers.
It’s about time that we really begin in earnest to go after waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid that diverts billions of taxpayers’ dollars from providing security to our seniors into the pockets of crooks who are milking the system through double billing, phony billing, and needless duplication.
In short, it’s about time that we put the security and peace of mind of working American families ahead of political ideology so that medical decisions can be made on the basis of what patients need rather than what they can afford.
The measure would, among other things:
.Eliminate the ability of insurance companies to discriminate against you based on pre-existing conditions like diabetes or heart disease.
.Promote security by prohibiting insurance companies from dropping you if you get sick.
.Provide tax credits to small businesses to purchase coverage.
.Reduce prescription drug costs for seniors by closing the Medicare Part D donut hole.
.Create health exchanges which will give you the purchasing power big businesses and unions enjoy.
This bill is far from perfect; no legislation ever is because it represents the compromises of 535 people and the President. But it will, over time, for those who have insurance now, enhance their families’ medical security. And it will remove 32 million Americans from the ranks of those who have no insurance coverage at all and that makes it worth supporting, as was the case with Social Security and Medicare. This legislation will have to be tweaked and modified as it is implemented, but it is a decent start in dealing with the problem that our country has not been able to fix since President Teddy Roosevelt first tried so long ago.
Finally, I wanted to let you know that on Sunday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. I am holding a telephone forum to talk with people across the 7th District about health care reform. If you would like to participate please sign up on my website at http://www.obey.house.gov.
Thank you again for taking the time to get in touch.
Sincerely,
David Obey
Your Congressman
My husband got a call to join the forum and was asked before hand what his question was for Dave Obey. They asked him in advance what his question was. He was on the phone the whole time, but in the end they did not have time for his question. He wanted to know if Tricare for Life was going to be eliminated for the veterans. Obama had said it would not be, but supposedly the bill does not back that. It is some forum where they ask questions ahead of time so that Dave Obey can pick the ones he wants to answer and not have to face his constituents face to face. That makes it easy, doesn’t it.
Wow! Connie, that was very enlightening. How could they not have time for his call? Were the minutes on his calling card going to run out? We do need to do something w/our healthcare, but could we seriously not come up w/a better plan?
I loved how “termonlogy” was changed, and questions were asked that I couldn’t make out what Obey’s answer was before he was ready for the next question.
At one point Obey’s saying it’s not a socialistic program – it’s not a government takeover, and just a few minutes later, while answering a question, he calls it a govt. takeover. I’m confused! ??
He probably wanted a phone conference b/c people can tell by your eyes when you’re lying to them, and when you’re blowin’ them off! That’s ALL this was!
I want to help those who 100% need help. But if the govt. bankrupts the country, those who could have helped at one point, will no longer be able to. What good is that?
The government can’t give anything to anyone they haven’t already taken from somebody else! This is Not going to be a “free” ride, and those who think it’s going to be are in for a rude awakening down the road.
What exactly in this bill is going to lower premiums for the general public? We are expanding medicaid and requiring people to buy insurance. No one is addressing the costs of medicine which are driven up by medical liability, medicare, medicaid and quite frankly government interferance. How is adding taxes and not controlling the costs going to help most people? There are a few good things in the bill, but most of it stinks.
