How to get involved in Politics Before the 2012 Elections
Former Wis7GOP Chairman, Mike Monson takes a moment to introduce Craig Rosand, the newly elected Chairman of Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District to you. One of Chairman Rosand’s focuses this year will be growing our party – starting with the local county parties throughout the district.
By joining a county Republican Party, you’ll gain access to the State and National Party as well and have the right to attend and participate in those events as a member.
As you know, the November 2012 elections are extremely important and we need your help to stop the train wreck heading towards Wisconsin from Washington. Get involved today by joining your local Republican Party.
Sean Duffy – Wisconsin 7th Congressional District Caucus
March 19, 2011
After 42 years of District Caucuses, without an elected Republican in office, the 7th Congressional District welcomed freshman Congressman Sean Duffy to their Hayward meeting on March 19th. The event was both a celebration of accomplishments over the previous year, but also a call to action to stay involved as we head into 2012.
President Obama and Democrats in Washington have continued spending at record levels pushing the United States to a $14 Trillion deficit. Republicans seem to be the only ones willing to put the government’s financial house in order and the leadership is going to have to come out of the Republican controlled House of Representatives.
Democrats want to simply maintain the status quo in hopes that the budget will balance itself. Their answer is to hold spending at its current levels, but that is simply not sustainable and will be a disaster for the country.

Obey Serious: A War Tax?
Wausau Democrat Says When You’ve Got a Problem, Raise a Tax!
MADISON – With government spending and debt increasing at an accelerating pace and the nation’s unemployment over 10%, Wisconsin Congressman David Obey is suggesting a new tax in an attempt to stymie progress in Afghanistan.
“Not surprisingly, the first solution from Dave Obey is a tax,” said Mark Jefferson, Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “If you’re Dave Obey, why bother working to root out stimulus spending errors or even trim down wasteful government spending when you can just tax your way to paying for whatever you need–even if it’s to keep our nation safe from terrorists.”
Obey told media outlets earlier this week he would pay for increased troop levels in Afghanistan with a $900 billion new tax on “people who can afford it.”
Jefferson suggested Obey may be echoing the strategy of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel who said earlier this year, “You never want to waste a good crisis.”
“Most Americans want to see the situation in Afghanistan resolved the way our generals have suggested. Instead, Obey has turned the situation into one more excuse to tax,” Jefferson said.
