Sean Duffy – Wisconsin 7th Congressional District Caucus

March 19, 2011

After 42 years of District Caucuses, without an elected Republican in office, the 7th Congressional District welcomed freshman Congressman Sean Duffy to their Hayward meeting on March 19th.  The event was both a celebration of accomplishments over the previous year, but also a call to action to stay involved as we head into 2012.

President Obama and Democrats in Washington have continued spending at record levels pushing the United States to a $14 Trillion deficit.  Republicans seem to be the only ones willing to put the government’s financial house in order and the leadership is going to have to come out of the Republican controlled House of Representatives.

Democrats want to simply maintain the status quo in hopes that the budget will balance itself.  Their answer is to hold spending at its current levels, but that is simply not sustainable and will be a disaster for the country.

Wausau, WI

Rebecca Kleefisch, Candidate for Lt. Governor, spoke at the Wisconsin 7th Congressional District’s Caucus.

Rebecca Kleefisch, former news anchor at WISN-TV and marketing expert, is running for Lt. Governor.

In 2009, combining her TV background and political junkie tendencies, Becky started a video blog, embedded once a week on “Sykes Writes”, a widely read conservative Wisconsin blog. Shortly after, she snagged a regular seat as a conservative pundit on “Sunday Insight”- a political talk show.

Banking on her experience in marketing and messaging and her love of politics, people started suggesting it might be time for a mom with some kitchen table common sense to lead. So Becky filed some papers to run for Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin.
